ANDERSON — A first step toward creating a tenant's union in Madison County attracted about 50 local residents. The Thursday event at the Impact Center was hosted by the Anderson Housing Authority and Tamie Dixon-Tatum, director of the Anderson Civil and Human Rights Department. Dee Ross, a founder of the Indiana Tenants Association, said the goal is to form a union in Anderson that would be similar to organizations in Indianapolis, South Bend, Evansville and Muncie. People who have lived with the experience of being evicted or homeless are those who know the solutions, Ross pointed out.
